Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh and undoubtedly the largest city of Bangladesh. Dhaka is also the principal city of Dhaka Division. With its vibrant history and affluent cultural diversities, Dhaka is well known to the world as the ‘City of Mosque and Muslin’. Nowadays, Dhaka is called a mega city and one of the major cities of South Asia. It is located on the banks of the Buriganga River. At present, Dhaka has grown into a dense city of about 15 million people in 2010 with an area of 1353 square km. becoming the center of the Bangladesh’s industrial, commercial, cultural, educational and political activities. Dhaka is the 9th largest town in the world and also ranked 28th position for density of population. With 4, 00,000 rickshaws running on its streets everyday, Dhaka is also known as the ‘Rickshaw Capital of the World’.
